This 4-hour course meets requirements toward the recertification program required for assisted living, memory care, adult residential and board and care operators. Presenters will discuss the RCFE and ARF Resident Rights by the State Department of Social Services. Just as we all are guaranteed certain freedom and rights under federal and state laws, residents in residential care facilities for the elderly are guaranteed additional rights because of physical or cognitive limitations.

A Caregiver is someone who attends to the physical needs of people and many times without realizing it, the spiritual needs. In long-term care settings, we know how a life crisis can make people feel confusion, denial and despair. Residents feel like there is no meaning and can be overwhelmed with feelings of regret and remorse. This course will discuss taking spirituality into consideration as caregivers, to help residents with these emotions, find forgiveness and acceptance.

Subject Code: 08 – Resident admission, retention & assessment procedures

This three-hour course will help administrators better understand key aspects of identifying the various health conditions that require extra levels of support services or another level of care. Administrators will also learn how to distinguish between Allowable, Restricted and Prohibited Conditions.
Course Objectives:
1. Have a greater understanding of the difference between, allowable, restricted and prohibited conditions.
2. Identify the different stages of pressure injuries.
3. Understand the circumstances that would cause a resident to relocate or need a licensed medical professional.
4. Understand the various regulations as it relates to allowable, restricted and prohibited conditions.
5. Best practices in communicating change of condition of resident to families.

$85 for 10 hours, or pick the topic you are interested in; $30 for Spiritual Root, $40 for Resident Rights, $30 Conditions
