The purpose of this course is to provide an overview of the various types of memory impairments so care providers can deliver special emphasis on the management of the motor and non-motor symptoms caused by impairments and how to provide quality care to these individuals.
This training explores the definition of memory impairment, the different types of common impairments, along with their causes and basic characteristics. Attendees will learn various ways to manage such symptoms, through the perspective of using empathic communication and care. This course covers the following subjects:
- Understanding Alzheimer’s and dementia
- Physical impacts of memory impairments
- Sensory & psychological changes resulting from memory impairments
- Types of memory impairment
