In this 3- hour course, instructor(s) will review the different types of incontinence and how to provide proper care for those residents suffering from incontinence issues.
People of all ages can suffer from incontinence, but the majority of those who suffer from this condition is over the age of sixty. Incontinence affects both men and women, but the underlying causes are quite different. It is also much more commonly found in women than it is in men. This is because childbirth affects the muscles that control urination and defecation.
If not too severe, incontinence can be easily managed with the right products.
Upon Completion of this course, individuals will be able to:
- List the 5 types of incontinence
- Describe ways to help residents with incontinence issues
- Understand how incontinence affects residents’ quality of life and ways to improve incontinence issues
- Review of regulations 87621, 87622, 87623 and 87625
