Course Overview:
This three (3) hour course meets requirements toward the RCFE CEU program required for RCFE administrators. This course is designed to give administrators of long-term care facilities an overview on how to plan for different disasters during a pandemic. Knowing what hazards can affect your community and learning what to do before, during, and after each one will help to stay safe, and strengthen the ability to adapt, so that your community can recover or ‘bounce back’ quickly.
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
1. Identify hazards that can affect your community.
2. Obtain greater knowledge what to do before, during and after each hazard.
3. Understand what additional actions a LTC community can take to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 or other viruses and the flu during a secondary disaster.
