Living Beyond a STROKE: Implications for Empathic Care

Daily Schedule: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
The purpose of this course is to provide an overview of strokes, with a special emphasis on the management of the motor and non-motor symptoms caused by this condition and how to provide quality care in response to these symptoms. Attendees will learn various ways to manage such symptoms and help prevent future strokes, through the perspective of using empathic communication, care, and supportive rehabilitation services. At the end of the course, attendees will be equipped with the necessary skills to care for an individual who has survived a stroke.
