The purpose of this course is to provide an overview of the various types of memory impairments so care providers can deliver special emphasis on the management of the motor and non-motor symptoms caused by impairments and how to provide quality care to these individuals.

The purpose of this course is to provide an overview and understanding of the culture of seniors who self-identify as LGBT. This course will focus on learning how to provide quality care to this group of individuals, focusing on creating a diverse, openly welcome, and empathic residential care community. At the end of the course, attendees will be equipped with the necessary skills to care for and support the needs of these individuals and their families.

Presenters will discuss the RCFE and ARF Resident Rights enforced by the State Department of Social Services. Just as we all are guaranteed certain freedom and rights under federal and state laws, residents in senior and adult facilities are guaranteed additional rights because of physical or cognitive limitations.

The purpose of this course is to provide an overview of powerful communication, with a special emphasis on implementing skills to provide a more effective way to communicate and meet psychosocial needs of potential residents’ family members. Attendees will learn ways to find the best solution for each customer quickly, correctly and with a helpful attitude.
