Course Description:
This two-hour course meets requirements toward the 40-hour recertification program required for certified administrators. Instructor will discuss how to identify and process grief to promote mental health, safety, and welfare in diverse culture settings.

12:30-2:30pm CREATING A COMMUNITY PREPARED TO SERVE LGBT OLDER ADULTS
The purpose of this two hour course is to provide an overview and understanding of the culture of seniors who self-identify as LGBT. This course will focus on learning how to provide quality care to this group of individuals, focusing on creating a diverse, openly welcome, and empathic residential care community. At the end of the course, attendees will be equipped with the necessary skills to care for and support the needs of these individuals and their families.
